Boerum Hill

Boerum Hill

Boerum Hill is named for the colonial farm of the Boerum family, which occupied most of the area during early Dutch settlement, most of the housing consists of three-story row houses built between 1840 and 1870. Boerum Hill is a cozy residential neighborhood that is in the northwestern part of Brooklyn. The relaxed community of young professionals and families gives the area a village vibe. Trendy sporty bars and restaurants, plus indie shops coexist along Atlantic Avenue and Smith Street, the main commercial hubs that also host several annual street fairs like the Atlantic Antic. Concertgoers and sports fans often head to the area from the nearby Barclays Center. Boerum Hill is an escape from the bustling city only a few subways stops away but still sophisticated and urban.
